Mix Design Team

The mix design team is in charge of developing and testing different concrete mixes in order to create a canoe to be tested in the anual Great Lakes Regional Conference competition

Developing and testing takes place during the fall semester and is finished by the week before winter break
-
The mix design team designs, batches, and tests all mixes
-

The final concrete mix is:
-
Strong enough to withstand several different loads (such as for a 2-man race, 4-man race, and transportation)

Lightweight
-
Able to float
-
Environmentally-friendly
-
Workable
-

Construction Team

The construction team builds the mold for the canoe based off the final design made by the Mix Design Team

Experiments with different types of molding methods

Casts mini-canoes during spring semester in order to test new designs
